Not Working? Fixes That Actually Help

Most LaSing problems fall into a handful of buckets, and nearly all have simple fixes. Work through these before reinstalling anything.

When the app will not install

App will not install: grab the LaSing Karaoke APK and confirm it is the complete 43.3 MB. Free up at least 150 MB of storage. Make sure install from unknown sources is allowed for your browser in Settings, then Apps, then Special app access.

Songs not showing up

No songs showing: verify your files are .mid, .kar, or MP3+G and sit inside the app folder. Our guide to adding songs to LaSing Karaoke covers the folder layout in detail. Reopen the app to force a rescan. If lyrics lag behind the music, try another copy of the song file, as timing errors come from the source file, not the app. For Bluetooth audio delay, pair the speaker before opening the app, and restart the app after pairing.

Cache, storage, and the silent killers

Start with the classic: clear the app cache, not the data. Cache holds temporary files that sometimes corrupt after an update; clearing it fixes most weird behavior without touching your song library or settings. Find it in Android Settings, Apps, LaSing, Storage. If the app still misbehaves, restart the phone before trying anything drastic.

Storage full is the silent killer. Android needs free space to work, and karaoke apps need room for temp files during playback. If the phone has less than 1 GB free, delete old videos and unused apps first. Move your song folder to an SD card if the phone supports it: a 32 GB card holds tens of thousands of MIDI files and costs less than a pizza.

Older Android versions

Android version matters for older phones. The app runs best on Android 8 and up; phones stuck on Android 6 or 7 may hit compatibility quirks with newer file formats. Our guide to LaSing Karaoke on old phones has more workarounds for aging hardware. Check for a system update in Settings first. If no update exists, stick to MIDI and KAR files, which are lighter and more forgiving on old hardware than MP3+G pairs.
